The use of multi-cathode lamps, the so-called "Application Source Lamp" (patented technology) brings to the user, despite the initial relatively higher purchase price, a number of advantages - reduction or elimination of the need for frequent replacement of the lamp in the spectrometer with respect to the currently analyzed element, lower cost of a six-cathode lamp compared to the otherwise necessary purchase of six classic single-cathode lamps. The only "disadvantage" is the possibility to use these lamps only in the above-mentioned types of spectrometers. f GBC.
Currently this lamp is only directly usable in a GBC Scientific 932 Plus, 933 Plus, Prospector Plus and a SensAA.
